Today we are celebrating a beautiful couple as well as a wonderful organization!  Nick and Shannon were married a year ago today all thanks to Wish Upon A Wedding: a nonprofit organization that provides weddings for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances.  AWESOME!

Just after finding out the unbelievable news that Nick's cancer was now in remission, this wedding became a wonderful celebration of new life.  I feel blessed to have been able to be a part of this beautiful third wish granted for Indianapolis.  Read more about their wedding day on the Wish Upon A Wedding BLOG.

FLE Anniversary: Caleb & Loretta

Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone!  We have a very special Four Leaf Events anniversary for you today.  Loretta and Caleb were married last year over the holiday weekend in Noblesville, Indiana.  The tiny old church, historic buildings, country backdrop, and intimate reception could not have been more perfect for a Fourth of July family gathering.

We loved having creative freedom while working with the couple's fantastic vendors which included our vendor buddies Nathaniel Edmunds Photography, bouquets by the sweetest Royal Creations, yummy food by Dodd's Catering, Ace Party Rental, and Forest Park.

A single violinist played the bridal party and bride down the aisle.  In a church as small and old as this one, that simple sound made a beautiful statement.

Four Leaf Events Money Saving Tip:  The reception details were created from recycled green wine bottles collected from family and friends throughout the course of their engagement.  The gorgeous green hydrangea was gathered from a friend's garden the day before.  Very budget savvy!

Bonus Tip:  The couple served a summery and refreshing non-alcoholic signature drink to their guests before dinner.

The wine bottle theme continued with custom labels on the serving wine that included a picture of the couple and their logo.

A wonderful thing about getting married over Fourth of July weekend is all of the fireworks that are sure be be around as your evening comes to an end.  Caleb and Loretta were serenaded with an orchestra of fireworks from all around town as they rode to their hotel at the end of the night.  Very romantic!

Countdown to the Royal Wedding!

       Thirty years ago, on July 29, our mothers set their alarms for the early morning hours to watch what would, until now, be thought of as the most fantastic, fairytale wedding.  Now, thirty years later, on April 29, 2011, we are going to do the very same thing.  Our very own, Jen Barnette, is planning a very intimate viewing party that will, no doubt, not disappoint. With details of the night remaining a mystery to guests, much like the royal wedding's secrecy, we are highly anticipating the event.  What I DO know is that the replica invitations were beautiful and were complimented by her own design of RSVP cards (which I loved so much I wanted to keep, rather than send back to her). Also, what I know, is that we will begin the evening in cocktail dresses and end it in our pajamas! Who said twenty-somethings are too old for sleepovers?  Stay tuned for pictures of the event, and we would love to hear from anyone else about other viewing parties that will be taking place, and better yet, see pictures of what's going on out there!  Also, be sure to check back after the wedding for the gorgeous details, and how we can help you make your own wedding as magical as the one the world will be watching!

If The Bow Fits, Flaunt It!

When I was a little girl, my sisters and I always had a bow in our hair.  We were told to wear play clothes to shoot a commercial and the director told us to remove our bows because children didn't play in bows.  Well, Mr. Director, we did!  

How fitting to incorporate a piece of your childhood into your wedding day look or decor?  Besides my obvious nostalgia, bows have become a favorite wedding accessory because of their classic femininity and playfulness.  Try adding a bow or ribbon to details on your big day to highlight your girly-girl side.

Spring is finally here and color is on the brain... wedding color schemes to be more precise.  Choosing the right colors for your wedding is sometimes one of the bravest decisions you will make as a bride.  You will have to decide what colors will work well with each other, with the venue, on your bridesmaids, for the season and still not take the attention away from you and your groom.  So how DO you decide?

The Perfect Palette

The Perfect Palette Blog is one of my favorite resources for finding, well, the perfect palette!  This blog allows you to search by color to find other colors that go together in blissful harmony.  You will also find inspiration boards with gorgeous pictures from real weddings that feature all of the colors in your scheme.  Can't decide on a color to get you started?  Browse their palette library to search gobs of inspiration boards that are bound to get you on track.

Another great resource is BBJ Linen, or any linen company for that matter, and their virtual design center .  Matching your shades to what is available in linen rentals will help you to pick a shade that is easier to match with other details in your wedding.  Oftentimes you can get sample swatches of your linen colors to have with you when you are picking out paper products, bridesmaid dresses, flowers, jewelry, etc.  No mismatching or clashing colors at your wedding!
