Our Favorite Details
Every detail of this wedding reflected the personality of the bride and groom.
The bride wore the same scent Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day (White Gardenia by Henri Bendel).
The guys, including the father of the bride, donned Chuck Taylor sneakers.
The rings were carried on the mother of the bride's Bible, making her a part of this very special day.
A food truck dinner took place in the shaded courtyard of the church (a logistical challenge, but so fun!)
Guests moved inside to a nearly 100 year old gymnasium (fitting for the former basketball star groom) for dancing, drinks, and dessert.
A yummy cookie and milk bar replaced the traditional wedding cake.
The couple drove away in a Jeep Wrangler following a sparkler send-off.
Did I mention every detail was perfectly their style? I just loved it!

Happy Anniversary to Jon and Alex!! Your wedding was full of some of my favorite personal details, yet your love for each other and for Christ is what shined through. I miss our "planning and drinks" meetings, and will definitely continue that tradition with other clients! =)

Cheers to two years and many more!

Our Favorite Details
Ceremony and reception at one of our favorite Indianapolis venues, Laurel Hall.
Guests were greeted with champagne before ceremony on the lawn.
The couple's dog was their ring bearer complete with bowtie and top hat.
They said their vows while standing in a circle of rose petals.
Postcards of Chicago landmarks were used as place cards and table numbers.
The bride's hair dresser switched Katie's hair to an updo for the reception.
Props from the photo booth made their way onto the dance floor, including a unicorn mask. It was a party!

Bobbi + Mike took SO many seriously amazing photos! Please check out their highlights on their blog post HERE.
Happy Anniversary, Michael and Katie!! You are one of the most genuinely nice couples we have had the privilege of working with!

Cheers to many, many, many more!

The Four Leaf Story

What’s in a name, really? Well, in our case, so much! If you’ve ever wondered why we’re called Four Leaf Events, then read on…

My love for the symbol of the four leaf clover began when I was engaged to my husband. We started sharing more about each other’s family history and I learned of his family’s close Irish heritage. My husband gave me a gold four leaf clover pendent necklace as a way to connect me to my new family.

Aside from the fact that I’m totally smitten with what this kind gesture symbolized, I also love what the points of the four leaf clover stand for: faith, hope, love and luck. I believe it takes a bit of all of these to pull off a successful wedding. So, I found it fitting for a wedding planner’s company name to represent these attributes.

Then it goes a little further to 1 Corinthians 13, a very popular scripture reading at weddings, but one that speaks so much truth. In the thirteenth verse Paul writes: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Four Leaf Events is focused on the faith, hope and love connecting the bride and groom in their marriage. And when it comes to making it through the wedding day without a hitch, we will be your lucky charm!

Jen

FLE Anniversary: Jacob & Katy

Today Katy and Jake celebrate their 2nd wedding anniversary!!  It is hard to believe it has already been two years and that it has taken me this long to share this gorgeous couple's wedding.  We had the opportunity to work with some of our favorite vendors who created a truly perfect day.

Katy and Jake's wedding was not only lovely in detail (I mean, check out those breath-taking florals!), but was more importantly filled with a crazy amount of love.  It is not too often that guests (and vendors) can feel the love surrounding a couple on their wedding day, but Katy and Jake created such emotion.  Love and gratitude was in abundance for their families, friends, and their Savior, Jesus Christ.  What a beautiful reminder these two are of what a wedding is truly about!

Have you ever seen a bride more thrilled to be married?

I love these sisters!

These days, Mr. & Mrs. Brewer are living "across the pond," traveling about Europe, being adorable, and I'm sure developing a polished British accent.  Congratulations on 2 wonderful years of marriage!  Many blessings for the anniversaries to come.

Cheers,
Jen

Blake's 1st Birthday Party!

Every once in awhile it is fun to step out of the pretty little wedding industry box to plan something completely different.  So when my son turned one, I knew I wanted to throw a bright and lively party to match his personality.

Unfortunately, our family all came down with our first major sickness in over a year just a few days before the party!  And although the party was postponed 24 hours, food plans were rearranged, and our little "party animal" was still in recovery mode, the day was full of fun memories.

[All Photo Credit:  Jaimee Moran]

Blake hated the cake and hated being messy.  This is him literally gagging on my baking.

A very special THANK YOU to our dear Jaimee for rocking the party photos!  And our deepest apologies to the third of the guests who also received the nasty "party bug."  The day wouldn't have been the same without each of you there.

Cheers!

Winning Gold

This February we find ourselves smack in the middle of the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics and the red carpet at the Oscars.  And what a time for GOLD!

Gold is still one of the hottest wedding accents and we are still in love.  These are a few of our favorite subtle gold touches to add to any wedding color scheme for a winning pop of fabulous!

1. a gorgeous gold sequins cardigan worn over the wedding gown (Real Simple)
2. gold foiled invitations create great expectations (Wedding Paper Divas)
3. a gold ribbon farewell (etsy.com)
4. bold gold vases add the perfect touch of glam (societybride.com)
5. simple gold ribboned wedding cake (Wedding Wire)
6. a gold wedding band is a classic accent to any style engagement ring (Cartier)
7. gold table numbers to make the guests tables extra special (etsy.com)

Cheers!
Jen
