Four Leaf Wedding: Cory & Lauren

Meet Cory and Lauren:  a beautiful, loving, fun couple who simply adore each other!  They were married on September 4th at the fantastic Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple.  Being a lover of anything Vera Bradley and nautical, the bride was able to incorporate those styles into every detail.  The end results was a classy yet colorful wedding with loads of personality.  Ashley Nacke Photography shot such amazing photos of everything that I could have posted them all!

The yellow rose bouquets by Bella's Blooms added a colorful pop that brought together both looks.

Even though the questionable weather forced us to move the ceremony indoors, the wedding was beautiful and intimate.  Indianapolis Art Center offers a great variety of backup plans if rain is in the forecast.

The couple had a "Bucket List" album where each guest wrote a unique date suggestion, marriage advice, fun place to visit in Indianapolis, etc.  They then placed that card in one of the dated envelopes.  Lauren and Cory will open one each day on the corresponding day for their first year of marriage!

Taste of Congo and World Cuisine's Jose Lusende and team not only served up unique and savory hors d'oeuvres, but were hilarious motivators during the evening's clean up!  Cake My Day created one dreamy dessert bar that was a giant hit.  The bride and groom chose to cut a pie instead of a traditional cake, because "Why would you eat cake when you can have pie?" -Cory Schneider.

I loved working with this bride and mother of the bride combo!  A great team makes the planning process much more fun.  Thanks, ladies!  Let's do it again...

Wardrobe Change = more reasons for bride to get down and boogie!  I love this classy end of the night dress that Lauren magically appeared in to show off her dance moves.  DJ Alex Anglin kept the party going an extra 30 minutes for the happy couple and their guests!

Congratulations, Cory and Lauren!!!  Enjoy your new life together and may God send many little blessings your way...

A Well-Dressed Wedding: Bridesmaids

It has almost been six months since the Royal Wedding and we are going through royal withdraw!  Looking back through pictures, one can't help but notice how well-dressed everyone was and remember the Pippa Middleton craze.  Pippa certainly made an impression around the globe and some even argue that Kate was overshadowed by her sister's knockout dress (blasphemy!).  Aside from her gorgeous physique, what is it about Pippa's look that made it an instant coveted classic?  Two things:  the modest, yet feminine shape and the ivory color.

THE REPLICAS

There are plenty of copy-cat dresses available out there at stores like Macys for reasonable prices.  And while these dresses are so pretty, we encourage brides to be inspired by weddings like Will and Kate's, not mimic them exactly.  However, Pippa's dress would make a lovely dress for a bride at a simple countryside wedding, don't you think?

THE SHAPE

If you want your maids to have Pippa's look, but you are not down with someone else wearing white on your wedding day, then take cues from the dress style but in a different color.  Do away with strapless, halters, spaghetti straps, sleeveless and choose a dress with a cap sleeve or even an off-the-shoulder cap sleeve.  If your bridesmaids are not comfortable with a form-fitting gown, try a tailored look like The Dessy Group dress.

THE COLOR

For smaller bridal parties, we love the idea of having the gals wear ivory.  Choose a fabric that is going to make the color look rich and perhaps slightly off from the bride's dress.  Stick to a less traditional bridal dress style and keep all of the maids' dresses the same.  Accent the bridesmaids with an embellish belt or colored bouquets to allow you to remain distinct as the bride.  This dress from The Limited (on sale for $99!) would be a perfect look for your royal-inspired bridal party.
